This post first appeared on LinkedInF2F.com, a blog set up to initiate and coordinate LinkedIn Face2Face Meets. But we might run into trademark issues with LinkedIn at some stage, so have moved it to techgazing.com/category/linkedin-face-to-face-meets. Please bookmark this site for information on F2F meets.
The LinkedIn community in India finally had its first (probably) F2F meet in Delhi on February 23, 2008. And was it a success? It rocked, and this is an understatement.

For one, the response was overwhelming. We had 54 attendees - and this was more than the number who confirmed. How often does this happen?
More importantly, it was the quality of interaction that stood out. The salient highlights of the evening were:
- We had a round of introductions, with everyone sharing their experiences of using LinkedIn so far. Some were actually not on LinkedIn yet, but we can expect them to be soon.
- This was followed by a discussion on how to take this F2F forum forward in a way that previous attendees find value in coming back, more want to join in and the community only grows. Read this post for a summary of this.
- This was followed by an informal interaction over some traditional old Delhi food and soft beverages.
The Learnings from the event
As a learning, this event was just what the doctor may have prescribed. And now we have a suggestive template for those wishing to organizing LinkedIn F2F events in the future. Click here for some ideas; send more to ajay@ajayjain.com to be added to this page.
And here are some links you may want to follow:
- Who attended? Check the wiki - some names are missing though.

And a special thanks to Grass Roots India for sponsoring the F&B.
