Are you fed up with continually hearing about Facebook or are you actively involved and intrigued by this national obsession? These and other issues will be discussed at the Social Media for Business Conference on October 30 at the Kensington Close Hotel, London.
Message from the event organizers:
Whatever your personal opinion, Facebook’s 39 million users worldwide can’t be ignored. Some businesses have already taken this into account and set up their own Facebook applications like ArenaFlowers.com who are kicking off the conference by describing their successes and failures in the social sphere. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear first hand how you too can integrate social media into your business and create a tight-knit community around your brand.
The latest addition to the programme is Darren Strange from Microsoft whose name you may recognise from his blog, ‘Officerocker’. This has become an important way for him to converse with customers, partners and press, attracting some 250,000 hits a month. Learn how your business stands to gain by interacting with your customers in this way and the effect corporate blogging can have on your brand reputation.

Ajay, I was interested in the business applications of various social media techniques discussed at the conference. Some had the idea that user-generated content was the key to creating more traffic and inventory. Some speakers thought it was all about driving down the cost of customer service. Wondered what your reactions were?
