Disadvantage Blackberry - Push mail goes free!

One of the biggest advantages offered by BlackBerry devices was the fact that they gave users a superb emailing experience. A particular strong point was push mail – the feature that sent a mail to a mobile device the moment it arrived in the user’s inbox. So popular was this service that a number of cellular service providers (Airtel, Hutch, etc.) even offered it for non-BlackBerry devices. If push mail had a catch, it was its price. One had to shell out a monthly rental to one’s service provider to avail of it.
However, that looks set to change. A number of solutions have popped up that offer push mail services free of cost – and not just to enterprise phones but to just about any mid-segment phone with a GPRS connection.
One of the most powerful of these is Consilient Push that is available free of cost; it not only pushes mail to one’s device but also allows one to view attachments as well as carry out other routine emailing tasks like answering and deleting mail. It is available for a large number of phones (Click here for the complete list) and all one needs to pay for is a GPRS connection – Consilient itself is totally free. You can configure up to five email accounts on your device. And all popular mail services such as Gmail, Yahoo! and Hotmail are supported, as are POP3 or IMAP accounts.
Other free push mail solutions include Emoze, Cortado and Morange. Try them and stay in touch with your mail, ‘on the move, anytime’. - Contributed by Nimish Dubey
